… in a house this size.
We’ve got a 6 foot wide x 4 foot deep area of mini hallway – look:

I’m standing in the bathroom doorway looking out toward the dining room. To the left is the Master Bedroom and to the right is the future Kids’ Room.
We plan to close up the bedroom doorways, open up doorways that lead into the living room and dining room, and make this space into more bathroom. The current bathroom is 6 feet wide x 7 feet long (42 sq/ft.) and the new bathroom will be 6 feet wide x 11 feet deep (66 sq/ft.).
As a side note, see that black spot on the wood floor? Any guesses as to what that is?
It’s gum. Seriously. Who does that?
We’ve got some space issues to work out in the kitchen as well – look:

Yup – that’s the whole kitchen. I’ve x-ed out (in a nice Halloween-y orange) the walls that are coming down. Through that door way to the right is a 5.5 foot wide x 8.5 foot deep hallway to the back door. That’s going to be more kitchen, with cabinetry that’ll go all along those walls. Where the fridge is currently sitting, we’ll build a peninsula with our slide in range & oven. Directly in front of the peninsula will be the dining room table.
As a side note, see those cabinets? They’re the original cabinets from 1925. Oh, but that’s not the original wood finish on ‘um. That’s a sticker. A wood patterned sticker. Nice. Needless to say, they’re comin’ out.
Also, look closely. See the wall-mounted faucet? Looks straight to me.
