What began as a simple trilogy has become a full-blown eight part saga, and not because the first few installments made a ton of money, believe you me, even though we live in Los Angeles and work in the biz.
We got down to work in June, expecting the job to take 2 months, maybe three. It’s a full six months later, and this demolition is a wrap.
Peruse the first three posts here, here, and here.
See where this whole project is heading here.
And now, I give you The Conclusion of The Concrete Saga (Part 1 of 5).
We rented our 16′ stake truck at 7:00am Thursday and drove that baby home. Here’s what we’re lookin’ at:

Time to get archaeological. Enter sifter. Look:

We set the sifter on the wheelbarrow like so…

… shoveled in the rubble …

… shook it to let the dirt fall through …

… and picked out anything that wasn’t concrete and trashed it.

We were left with many a wheelbarrow load of this:

We also had some big stuff to haul out.

Fenway looked on.

Is she a maniac? Yes. Is she a lady welder looking for work? I just don’t know.
Filling the truck was slow going. This is more than a one day job.

This is the end of Thursday:

Never in my life have I been so happy to see dirt.

To be continued…
