The trees must come down. “Tree of Heaven” they are called, but they stink like hell. The leaves smell like a garbage can. Before you jump on this green gal for chopping down trees, let me remind you that we call this lil’ casa The Little Orchard House. At this point, the plan is to plant an avocado tree, citrus tree, apple tree, pomegranate tree, and a laundry detergent tree (more on that later).
Let’s begin!
First, in the Upper Yard, Armand threw this thing into a Y of the tree.


Then he tossed his end to me down in the Lower Garden, scrambled down the ladder, and put our new chainsaw to work. No pics of this part – hands were full.
Slice it!



Next, he tossed the branches up top and cut them into more manageable logs and tinder.

Enter new toy #2.



Hot.


Fortunately, the wood part of this tree smells beautiful. Almost ready for a bonfire :)
