My mom told me about this today. Our mortgage is only $69 more per month, and we get a 796 square foot house on a 4900 square foot lot! In Los Angeles! I realize that in the rest of the country, this isn’t much, but for L.A., it’s amazing.

Came back from an awesome time in Chicago with bronchitis. But I’ll be back up on the roof workin’ tomorrow!

We put our new tarp on in such a way that we would have ventilation and be able to work rain or shine. Then the wind came rippin’ though and showed us who’s clever. The tarp ripped right off of the ropes and there we were scramblin’ at 11pm trying to Bear Grylls this puppy in any way we could. Now what, I ask you. Now what? We’ve got some talking over things to do.

Well, friends, some water got in. The worst storm since 1921 hit us and we got a little soggy. Enter new tarp, new tie down. This time, instead of de-tarping and re-tarping everyday, we will work under the tarp, rain or shine, till this thing is donesies. For real.

We built three of these.

We’ve now got ventilation on three sides.

It rained again on Christmas evening, and only one drop got in. One drop. We are ready.

3. organizing the giant stacks of papers and mail that have formed over the last 2 months
4. beer
5. having some more bonfires
6. not being filled with stress and dread every time it rains
7. taking the dogs out on some day trips
8. spending less money
9. being more active with my sketch comedy team
10. I want to have something other than the roof to talk about when folks ask, “How are you doing? What have you been up too?”.

Sweet relief! We just saved a lot of money, stress, and general headache with this news. We caught a break!
